Merak Jinxin Air Conditioning Systems (Wuxi) Co. Ltd. is a joint venture founded in 2008 by Wuxi Jinxin Group and Merak, a division of Knorr-Bremse. The facility is located in Wuxi, approximately 120 km from Shanghai and covering a total production floor area of 12,500 square-meters. Merak-Jinxin specializes in the manufacturing of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC) for mainline and mass transit projects in the domestic Chinese market, capable of producing up to 1,800 HVAC units annually. With more than 45,000 Merak air-conditioning systems currently in use by major rail vehicles worldwide and Wuxi Jinxin’s strong domestic reputation as an expert supplier of accessories and interior fittings for rail vehicles, Merak-Jinxin is in an advantageous position to greatly benefit from the growing demand for air-conditioning systems in the China rail vehicles sector, with annual sales for the industry expected to reach 198 million Euros by 2012.
